Join Twisted Strait Fibers and Leslie Hoex for our April online community gathering event. Leslie will be sharing how to present and perform better on Zoom. She will start off by talking a little bit about screen sharing and using meeting controls. Then dive into how to look more professional on Zoom and perfecting your presentations and demos by showing you how to use your phone as a second camera to display what you are doing or talking about. This technique is easy to do and will make your videos, classes and demos more pleasing to the viewer.

More about LESLIE HOEX – Fiber Artist / Graphic Designer

I moved up to the Olympic Peninsula in 2013, from Livermore California. My husband, Harry, and I longed for cooler weather and a more rural lifestyle. We found exactly what we wanted in the town of Sequim. I got to know our shepherd neighbors, and I was introduced to wool and fiber spinning. I found a local yarn shop that taught fiber spinning so I signed up for a class and fell in love with it! I was practicing my traditional spinning, when I came across a textured art yarn workshop and immediately signed up for it. With art yarn and textured yarns I was able to let the artist out in me. I began to sell my unique yarns at local yarn stores, they were a hit and customers called them “The Nordstrom’s of Yarn”. I continue to educate myself by taking classes, watching videos, and discussing with friends. I also enter projects into juried contests at local events so I can get feedback from professionals. I try to spin a little every day relaxing and feeling the fiber slip through my fingers – creating beauty!
