Water, trees and gray skies-a rug that highlights the subtle beauty of a Northwest day. The warp is linen. The weft locally sourced wool that I sheared myself from several different breeds of sheep: Shetland, Icelandic, Romney, Navajo Churro. The yarn was spun at Mora Valley Spinning Mill in New Mexico to be used specifically for rugs: thick and strong! The weaving was accomplished on a large Glimakra loom made in Sweden. The Glimakra loom has a hanging beater bar that allows the weaver to pack the weft very tightly. This is a sturdy rug that will take punishment. Professionally dry clean only.
