Terms of Use-Sellers

Twisted Strait Fibers (TSF) operates a market where you can sell your handmade goods directly to buyers around the world. We want to make sure that you and your buyers have a positive experience on TSF. This policy is a part of our Terms of Use. By selling on TSF, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

1.  What Can be Sold on TSF

TSF is cooperative market. Buyers come here to purchase handmade items unique to our environment. Everything listed for sale on TSF must be handmade with at least 50% protein fiber.

Handmade items are items that are made and/or designed by you, the seller.

You agree that:

  • All handmade items are made or designed by you or your employee or contractor hired by you.
  • You agree to seek permission for using any patterns you have not developed yourself. You will provide a copy of the “release for sale” to the Web Manager with the price listing/description. You will include the name of the pattern developer and/or web address in your product description.
  • You accurately give credit to all the other people involved in the item you have made. For example: Another member hand-spun the yarn you used to create a sweater.
  • You will accurately describe the fiber source (such as alpaca) and percentage used in your description, and disclose if the source is not known to you.
  • You will sell only your items under your membership.

2. What Cannot be Sold on TSF

Reselling is not allowed on TSF. Reselling is any item, handmade or not, that wasn’t made by you or in conjunction with you.

TSF may remove any listings that violate our policies, to be determined at the sole discretion of TSF.

The following items are not allowed to be part of or included with our fiber products:

  • Controlled substances: Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia, and Medical Drugs

When you sell on TSF you represent not only your values, but the values of Twisted Strait Fibers. Your actions are now shared by all of our membership. TSF expects you to:

  • Provide honest, accurate information in your membership listing and sales descriptions
  • Honor all the TSF Terms of Use
  • Respect the intellectual property of others. If you use a pattern which precludes or limits sales, follow the instructions given by the artist
  • Not engage in sales negotiation, undercutting the pricing listed on the site
  • Not harass, discourage, or otherwise interfere with the sales of another member on the TSF site

4. Communication and Protection of Personal Information

During the course of a sale you may be asked to communicate with the buyer. You may receive the buyer’s address, email address, or phone number as a result of the transaction or as a result of an inquiry prior to the transaction. You may not use the information for unsolicited commercial messages or other promotions. You may not, without the buyer’s explicit consent, add their details to your email or physical mailing list. You may not market directly to that buyer as a result of your sale on TSF. If, during the transaction the buyer requests to be added to your private listings, you must keep a copy of their request on record to prove you had a direct request from the buyer. If TSF and you are found to be joint data controllers of personal information, and if TSF is sued, fined, or otherwise incurs expenses because of something that you did as a joint data controller of the buyer’s personal information, you agree to indemnify TSF for the expenses it occurs in connection with your processing of buyer personal information.
